On Friday, the OMB’s Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) announced that it had approved an information collection request (ICR) from DOL’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) on “Recordkeeping and Reporting Occupational Injuries and Illnesses (29 CFR Part 1904)”. Industry and OSHA use this data as a means to track changes in safety performance in the workplace.
The table below shows the change in burden estimate that was
approved by OIRA.
OSHA reports that the reason for the burden estimate
increase is that they are combining the “Improve Tracking of Injuries and
Illnesses” ICR, OMB Control Number 1218-0279,
with this collection.
