The House Rules Committee is scheduled to consider a proposed amendment to the Senate Amendment to HR 5009 on Monday afternoon. That proposed amendment is going to be used as the vehicle for the FY 2025 National Defense Authorization Act. In addition to the standard four divisions found in the typical NDAA, the following Divisions have been added to this draft:
Division E—Other
Matters,
Division
F—Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025, and
Division G—Department of State Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2025.
There was an outside chance that this last minute NDAA would include language reauthorizing the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) program. If it were included here, it would be in Division E. That division includes the following Titles:
TITLE L—Veterans
Affairs Matters,
TITLE LI—Foreign
Affairs Matters,
TITLE LII—Judiciary
Matters,
TITLE LIII—Natural
Resources Matters,
TITLE LIV—Telecommunications-Related
Matters,
TITLE LV—Transportation
And Infrastructure Matters,
TITLE LVI—Homeland
Security-Related Matters, and
TITLE LVII—Miscellaneous.
And there is no CFATS language in Title LVI.
There will be more on the NDAA language in HR 5009 here
later this week.
