ISCD Updates 9 CFATS FAQ Responses – 6-26-20

Today the CISA Infrastructure Security Compliance Division (ISCD) updated the responses to nine frequently asked questions (FAQ) on the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) Knowledge Center. These updates were not announced in the ‘Latest News’ section of that page because these were editorial changes designed to: reflect changes in program management (CISA branding), to URL’s to page links (see the similar 6-22-20 blog post) and to make the responses more helpful; rather than reflecting changes in ISCD policy.

The updated FAQ’s were:

FAQ #1178 Are truck terminals and railroad facilities regulated under the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS)?

FAQ #1194 Are facilities, particularly colleges and universities, able to avoid reporting certain chemical(s) of interest (COI) in their Top-Screen?

FAQ #1238 How do I comply with the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standard (CFATS) regulation if my facility does not have internet access?

FAQ #1274 How can a person contact the Chemical Security Assessment Tool (CSAT) Help Desk?

FAQ #1275 What needs to be done with the facility ID in the Chemical Security Assessment Tool (CSAT) when a covered chemical facility is bought or sold?

FAQ #1288 How does a facility count the amount of a release-flammable chemical of interest (COI) in a mixture with a National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) rating of 4?

FAQ #1289 For the purposes of the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) regulation, what is the definition of "tank farm"?

FAQ #1291 How do I determine whether or not I need to report my aluminum powder?

FAQ #1368 Are Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) background checks required for emergency responders prior to access to restricted areas or critical assets during emergency situations?
