These bills are probably companion bills according to an
article published yesterday on TheHill.com. Similar sounding bills (see here
for example) have been introduced in the last two sessions of Congress and they
have all suffered from an overly broad definition of ‘internet connected device’
that left them essentially useless. It will be interesting to see if anything
has changed.
