Today the TSA published a 30-day information collection
request (ICR) renewal notice in the Federal Register (78 FR 13367-13368)
to support the collection of information from personnel applying for a
Hazardous Materials Endorsement to their State Commercial Driver’s License. The
TSA uses the collected information to conduct a Security Threat Assessment
(STA) required under 49
USC 5103a.
As I noted in my
blog post concerning the 60-day notice for this ICR renewal, TSA is
forecasting a continuing decline in the number of applications for new and
renewed HME. Other than the change in burden hours and cost associated with
this declining enrollment, there are no changes being made from the currently
approved ICR.
Public comments on this ICR renewal may be submitted to OMB
via email (oira_submission@omb.eop.gov).
Such comments should be received by March 29th, 2013.
