HR 1261 Introduced – Cyber Security

Last week Rep. Conley (D, VA) introduced HR 1261, the Chief Technology Officer Act. This bill would establish the office of Chief Technology Officer in the executive office of the President. As crafted in this bill this individual would be solely focused on the information systems of the Federal government. There is absolutely no mention of control systems in this version of the bill.

The provisions of this bill are very similar to Title II of HR 1136 introduced by Rep. Langevin (D, RI).
