CISA Updates CFATS 15th Anniversary Page – 1-18-23

Yesterday CISA’s Office of Chemical Security updated their CFATS 15th Anniversary page, celebrating the fifteen years that the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards program has been in operation. Yesterday’s update added links to three new YouTube videos:

A Regulatory Program with Flexibility – What Makes CFATS Different,

The Global Standard for Chemical Security, and

Industry’s Perspective on the Future of CFATS.

While the links to these three videos are just now showing up on this page, they have been on the CFATS Playlist since November.

New Video Added to CFATS 15th Anniversary Web Site

Today, CISA added a third video to their CFATS 15th Anniversary web site. The new YouTube video is “The Public Private Partnership Model”. We see mostly the same folks from the earlier videos talking about the partnership between the CISA regulatory folks and the industries being regulated. This is all part of the lead-up to Thursday’s virtual celebration.

CISA has two other videos already lined up on their YouTube channel:

The Global Standard for Chemical Security”, and

Industry’s Perspective on the Future of CFATS

We will probably see these added to Anniversary page tomorrow and Wednesday.

Review - CFATS 15th Anniversary – Bringing the Regulations to Life

Yesterday CISA’s Office of Chemical Security (OCS) updated their ‘CFATS 15th Anniversary’ web site, adding links to a new post about the history of the CFATS program and the “More Than a Job – The People Behind the Program” video that I briefly mentioned last week. The new post, “Bringing the Regulation to Life: Chemical Security Inspectors and the First CFATS Inspections”, looks at the process of standing up Chemical Security Inspectors. New CFATS’ 15th Anniversary Videos

Yesterday, CISA made a second change to their CFATS 15th Anniversary web page in a week. The latest change is the addition of a “CFATS 15th Anniversary Videos” section to the page. The new section provides a link to the “Chemical Security Is National Security” YouTube video. The video provides comments from David Wulf (former CFATS Director), Matt Fridley (Brenntag North America), and David Mussington (CISA), on the national security aspects of the CFATS program.

The video is on a portion of the CFATS YouTube channel that includes the following videos that seem to play into the 15th anniversary theme:

A Regulatory Program with Flexibility – What Makes CFATS Different”,

The Global Standard for Chemical Security”,

More Than a Job – The People Behind the Program”,

The Public-Private Partnership Model”, and

Industry’s Perspective on the Future of CFATS

I seem to recall that the lead video was presented at the 2022 Chemical Security Summit, but I cannot find any mention of it.
