With the House and Senate still in their Summer Recess, and the House resuming their Committee Work Week on Thursday, there are a total of seven hearings scheduled. Five of those hearings are markups of different portions of the notorious $3.5 trillion infrastructure bill being crafted in response to S Con Res 14. At least one of those partial documents includes cybersecurity spending.
On Thursday, the House Science, Space and Technology Committee will hold a markup hearing for their portion (Title IX) of that bill. The Committee Print of that Title includes the following additional spending allocations for cybersecurity related projects:
§90009 – NASA: $7 million for information technology security and cybersecurity activities
§90010 – NIST: $1.195 billion for scientific and technical research including cybersecurity
