With the Senate back in Washington and the House conducting another ‘Hearing Week’, there will be a number of hearings of interest. The House continues hearings to craft portions of the $3.4 trillion social infrastructure bill, including more CISA funding. Three CSB nominees will receive confirmation votes in the Senate.
More CISA Funding
On Tuesday the House Homeland Security Committee will hold a markup hearing on the “Committee Print providing for reconciliation pursuant to S. Con. Res. 14.”. The Committee print for the Homeland Security portion of the bill includes spending allocations for:
• Multi-State Information Sharing
and Analysis Center,
• Execution of a national
multi-factor authentication campaign,
• Crossfeed
program, and
• Cybersecurity workforce development and education.
CSB Nominations
On Wednesday the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee will hold a business meeting that will include consideration of the following nominations for Board Members for the Chemical Safety and Hazard Investigation Board (CSB):
• Stephen A. Owens,
• Jennifer B. Sass, and
• Sylvia E. Johnson
The Committee held a confirmation
hearing on these nominees on July 29th, 2021. The nominations were
submitted to the Senate back in April.
