Yesterday with just the House in session (and preparing to
spend a week in self-quarantine with donors in their district – sorry that just
came out) there were 20 bills introduced. One of those bills may receive future
coverage in this blog:
HR
6272 To amend the Public Health Service Act to authorize the Secretary of
Health and Human Services to make grants to eligible entities to train
elementary and secondary school nurses on how to respond to a biological or
chemical attack or an outbreak of pandemic influenza in a school building or on
school grounds. Rep. Jackson Lee, Sheila [D-TX-18]
Lots of COVID-19 bills were introduced this week, but this
one uses that as an excuse to address chemical and/or biological attacks;
interesting. I would not be surprised to see language that includes accidental
chemical releases as well.
