Yesterday with both the House and Senate preparing to leave Washington
for a longish weekend before starting the Impeachment Trial, there were 53
bills introduced. Two of these bills may receive future consideration in this
blog:
S
3205 A bill to require the Administrator of the Small Business
Administration to establish a program to assist small business concerns with
purchasing cybersecurity products and services, and for other purposes. Sen. Cortez Masto, Catherine [D-NV]
S
3207 A bill to require the Director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure
Security Agency to establish a Cybersecurity State Coordinator in each State,
and for other purposes. Sen.
Hassan, Margaret Wood [D-NH]
I will be watching both of these bills for language and
definitions that would indicate that control system cybersecurity provisions
were included.
NOTE: The Senate will be tied up pretty completely 6-days a
week for at least a couple of weeks with the Impeachment Trial. Most of the
floor action during that time will be very limited, but specific provisions
have been made to allow Senators to continue to introduce legislation during
the Trial. The House will, of course, continue business pretty much as normal.
