On Friday the OMB’s Office of Information and Regulatory
Affairs (OIRA) announced
that it had approved an advanced notice of proposed rulemaking (ANPRM) from the
DOT’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on “Safe
and Secure Operations of Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems”. This ANPRM was sent
to OIRA in May. I expect that the rulemaking has a good chance of being
published in the Federal Register before the end of the year.
