Yesterday the OMB’s Office of Information and Regulatory
Affairs (OIRA) announced
that it had approved a notice from the DOT’s National Highway Transportation
Safety Administration (NHTSA) for “Request for Comments on Cybersecurity Best
Practices for the Safety of Modern Vehicles”. Documents such as this are not
listed in the Unified Agenda, so there is no public information about what may
be included. This type of document is typically a prequel [sorry that should have been 'prelude'] to the initiation of
rulemaking.
I would expect this to be published in the Federal Register in
the next week or two.
