NIAC Meeting 10-19-10

The National Protection and Programs Directorate of DHS has published a notice in Monday’s Federal Register (available on the Internet Saturday) announcing an upcoming meeting of the National Infrastructure Advisory Council on October 19th in Washington, DC. The NIAC was organized to provide the President through the Secretary of Homeland Security with advice on the security of the critical infrastructure sectors and their information systems.

The agenda calls for the Council to discuss:

● A Framework for Establishing Critical Infrastructure Resilience Goals
● Optimization of Resources for Mitigating Infrastructure Disruptions
● Potential New Study Topics
The meeting is open to the public but the actual discussion will only be open to the Council members and invitees. There will be a brief public comment period at the end of the meeting. Brief (3 minute) oral presentations will be allowed as will be the submission of written comments. Written comments need to be submitted in advance and may be submitted through the Federal eRulemaking Portal (include words ‘Department of Homeland Security’ and docket number DHS-2010-0079).
